House Profile: Alderton House is a newly refurbished residential home with 10 en suite bedrooms for adults with learning disabilities, 3 of which are ground floor bedrooms. Alderton House will be able to accommodate individuals with mild, moderate or severe learning disabilities from any age range or gender, the house is however less suited to more complex physical disabilities.
Alderton House is situated in the heart of Littleport, near Ely Cambridge. Littleport boasts a variety of shops and other community facilities such as a sports centre, library and churches. There are also many country walks and parks. Littleport has a good bus service to Ely and the train station is a 5 – 10 minute walk away, but the house has vehicles to provide transport to those who wish to use them.
Cambridgeshire offers an extensive variety of services for adults with learning disabilities ranging from education at a local college, work placements, holistic therapies and sporting activities like horse riding and sailing.
The staff team at Alderton House have experience in supporting people with autism, epilepsy and complex behaviours. The high ratio of staff to support residents will ensure that the individuals that live at Alderton House have the opportunity to lead a full and active life within the local community and will promote their independence and autonomy.
